Myths And Legends: Kourion—Paphos

As we head to Paphos, our first stop will be in the ancient city-state of Kourion, where the Greco-Roman amphitheater from the 5th century AD is located.

After enjoying the breathtaking view, we will proceed to the birthplace of Aphrodite. You will have the opportunity to take excellent photos and swim in the waters that, according to legend, bring youth and beauty.

The fascinating history of the ancient capital of Cyprus will amaze you.

Passing by the Basilica of St. Paraskevi (9th century), we will stop in the village of Yeroskipou, where you can try and purchase Cypriot sweets called “loukoum.”

The archaeological monuments of this city are included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, including the archaeological park we will visit, where the House of Dionysus is located. This Roman villa is beautifully adorned with well-preserved floor mosaics that depict the heroes of Greek myths.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to wander along the Paphos waterfront and enjoy its special atmosphere.
