Plaka is the lower, flat part of the Old Town located at the foot of the Acropolis. It is the most popular destination for visitors to the capital. The pleasant colors and architecture of the neoclassical houses, the little gardens carefully manicured by the inhabitants of the area, and the atmosphere of Plaka itself will undoubtedly charm you. Even the air is different, lighter, more fragrant, and more like a gift from the gods. Tourists flock here to explore the old cobbled streets, traditional Greek tavernas and cafés, as well as the numerous jewelry and souvenir shops nestled in the old mansions.

Athens has unique sights from the ancient times and the museums of the city where you can get acquainted with the rich historical and cultural heritage of Greece. Go shopping in Kolonaki and Plaka districts, on Ermou, Monastiraki, Pandrossa, Afinas, Patission, Omonia and Sitmagma squares. In Athens you will find Greek folk shops as well as boutiques of world famous brands, you can buy clothes and souvenirs for every taste and wallet. Be sure to stop by a Greek restaurant, tavernas or cafes where you can enjoy wonderful national cuisine and taste the fine wines of Greece.

Take the funicular to Lycabetus Hill, Athens' highest point, where you can enjoy a mesmerising panorama of the city. In the evening, an optional 'Athens at Night' excursion, a folkloric musical programme with songs and dances at a tavern in the Plaka Old Town area.
